Image is a short animated film based on my comic strip by the same name.

The film was animated in 3D but utilised cell shading and post production effects to give a 2D comic book look, using flat, bold colours and high contrast lighting to give the appearance of a 1930s or '40s comic. The original comic - viewable in the 'Comic Art' section of this showreel - was used as a storyboard rather than producing new ones.

I was responsible for writing, producing, co-directing and co-animating the film, as well as compositing and editing the final product.

In the 3D work I was responsible for all background design and modelling, including all sets and props; all shading and the production of blocktests and animatics, as well as lighting and animating many scenes.

I also created the opening title sequence from original artwork by Dan Woods.

The film was made with the support of the National Lottery through the UK Film Council new Cinema Fund, with the assistance of Screen South.
