Raven was my degree Final Major Project, with 50% of my entire degree mark
resting on this animation and its accompanying project report.
I was solely responsible for every element of the visuals of the film, from
concept, through to storyboarding, modelling and texturing, animation and
finally rendering and post-production.
The bird model consists of both NURBS and polygons, with each individual feather
on the wings a seperate polygon model. Textures on the raven were a mixture
of procedural textures and file textures created in Adobe Photoshop. Animation
of the bird utilised a combination of inverse kinematics, blend shapes and
driven keys.
The hands were modeled in polygons and textured using photographs manipulated
in Photoshop. The texture was applied using UV mapping techniques. The hands
are animated completely with driven keys.
Nothing Real Shake was used for post-production compositing.
